The last and rarest Biturbo model!
This extremely rare power package was officially purchased from Maserati in Italy as a new vehicle in 1991 and first registered in Turin on March 22, 1991. The 424 is a last-series biturbo model from the De Tomaso era and, like all of the only 384 cars produced, was intended exclusively for sale on the Italian market. Not only for this reason alone, we are pleased to offer one of the rarest Biturbos ever produced. Our Maserati is in exceptionally clean condition and is fabulously equipped. A key feature is ABS as standard, a first for the Biturbo family, and working air conditioning is standard, as is the four-stage adjustable sports suspension, the firmness of which can be adjusted in a fraction of a second. The interior is like a living room without losing any of its sporty character, and the V6 engine with 24 valves, overhead camshaft and so-called twin turbo, installed at a 90° angle, produces the typical Italian sports car sound. The power delivery of this model is enormous and is often underestimated. Modern vehicles in particular are quickly left behind when it comes to power. The engine of this biturbo model, which unleashes a full 245 hp from 2 liters of displacement and a continuous power explosion already from 3000 rpm, was never built again like this. The full power of the majority of all existing vehicles on the market, is only at high speeds sufficiently there but this engine reaches its full torque already from 3000 rpm, which even seamlessly up to the upper speed limit.
A truly rare piece of Italian automotive history with impressive driving performance and pure luxury in the interior. Especially worth mentioning is the fact that Maserati produced its cars mainly for Italy itself and the prestige brand was completely unknown in Germany at that time. In 1988 Maserati achieved the incredible feat of selling not even twenty cars of a predecessor Biturbo model, whereas in other European countries about 100 units found their enthusiasts. This was due to Maserati's poor marketing of this luxury range and as a result there are very few cars on the market today to buy. To find a model like ours, in this great condition, is then only possible by pure chance. From a technical point of view, the late Biturbos are reliably produced and the 90-degree V6 aluminum engines, this Maserati Biturbo, are designed for very high mileage and incredibly robust, typical of the brand. The channels for the oil supply of the camshafts, among other things, changed in this model, as well as the improved turbochargers, let the problems of the earlier Biturbo models disappear and make our model a very low-maintenance contemporary. Only after about 40,000km do we change the timing belt and it has just received a new one. The vehicle comes with the original on-board folder including the vehicle description and the stamped service booklet. Even the two sets of keys are still present.
