Oldie racecar in perfect restored condition!
The Abarth Simca was the first product of the collaboration between Simca and the Abarth company.
As early as 1960, Abarth was interested in the Simca 1000 models in order to convert them for the racetrack. With the Abarth Simca, Simca hoped to finally become active in motorsport and establish itself there. The 1300 was a complete success from the start of sales in 1961. It was based on the Simca 1000, taking over the floor pan, gearbox, steering and axles. However, the engine was completely redesigned. The 1.3 liter rear engine produced up to 138 hp and had two Weber twin carburettors. The car also had dry sump lubrication with two oil pumps and front-mounted radiators. Up to 230 km/h were possible in the road-going version. The previous owner acquired the vehicle in a partially restored condition and had it finished by the Aumüller company. The company Aumüller GmbH specializes in Abarth vehicles. However, the engine installed here is not a racing engine, but a 1.3 L engine with two twin carburetors from the Simca Rallye II, optimized for road use, rally participation and durability. This engine has been overhauled and rebuilt.
