Completely restored, fantastic condition!
The Lotus Elan was introduced as a roadster in 1962. It was Lotus' first production sports car with a steel frame and body made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The vehicle has a kerb weight of only 680 kg. The Elan was technically very advanced, for example, the engine had two overhead camshafts and the chassis was equipped with four disc brakes and independent suspension. The Elan was an immediate market success. It was small, light, fast and economical, plus it offered agile handling, excellent road-holding and a comfortable ride.
This beautiful car was delivered to its first owner, Ronald Arthur W., in Oxford on October 11, 1965, and had license plate HLW426C. The car always stayed in the family until a passionate lotus collector was able to buy the car in early 2000 and took it to Germany. There it was supposed to be extensively restored, but this did not take place as the owner became ill. Mr. T. bought the car about ten years ago and then completely restored the car within eight years by completely disassembling and rebuilding the car. All parts were refurbished when possible or purchased new- the engine, transmission and differential have been completely overhauled. In 2022, the Lotus received a complete engine overhaul.
The car is now in like new condition and drives fantastic. The feeling of moving 100 hp with only 680 kg curb weight is simply unique. Pure lotus - We are looking forward to your visit!
