Description
This vehicle is one of 6 sports coupés produced by the coachbuilder "Carozzeria Ghia" in Turin on the basis of the Fiat 1100 TV (Turismo Veloce). The vehicle was first registered in Portugal in 1954 and was completely restored there between 2015 and 2017. All invoices and photo documentation for the restoration and history are enclosed with the documents and can be viewed in our showroom. The vehicle won the "Best Restoration" title at the Interclassics 2023 in Brussels.
It is difficult to impossible to find information about the origins of the Ghia TV Coupes. In 1970, Ghia and the Vignale company were taken over by Ford and shortly afterwards the traditional brand name was downgraded by the Americans to an equipment line for the Taunus, Granada and Co. All documents relating to the production of the Fiat 1100 TV Ghia Coupes must have been lost during this takeover at the latest. No wonder, as only six examples were built in total and it is questionable whether there were ever any documents at all. The Fiat 1100 TV Ghia is and remains a real rarity.
