One owner, completely original!
This virtually untouched BMW 525 sedan has only run 42,000 km and comes in its original paint. We discovered this incredible vehicle in Tyrol/Austria and could hardly believe the pristine condition it is in. The 525 was produced in the spring of 1976 and was purchased and registered as an exhibition vehicle on 01.05.1977 by a graduate engineer, new at BMW. From 1979 then only his wife drove the car in sporadic intervals and at some point left it completely.
The condition is fabulous and the fact that the summer tires that came with the car are still mounted and even the 70's winter wheel set with studs is present, make the car all the more interesting. The interior looks absolutely as good as new and we owe this to the slipcovers, which were pulled over the seats for many years.
The term originality is explained in every detail of this vehicle. The few kilometers it has run, the wonderful interior and a reliable six-cylinder, which also runs silky smooth, is unparalleled. The two-and-a-half-liter engines of the time, which were not only powerful but also well-behaved, are still among the best in their displacement class and are considered indestructible.
The E12 was the first BMW with the series designation (in this case a five) at the front and the halogen twin headlights, are to this day, the unmistakable trademark in every rear view mirror. To find such an E12, another time, will be difficult. Finally, it is interesting to know that according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Germany in 2015, only 171 vehicles were registered. The rarity of the model, coupled with the perfect condition, make the 525 stand out clearly on the European market.
