Description

This sensational limousine made by Alfa Romeo was first registered on July 31st, 1972 in Agrigento on the south-west coast of Sicily. The region around Agrigento is well-known for its ruins of the ancient city of Akragas with its gigantic digsite and its valley filled with well-preserved Greek temples. The car’s first owner, Girolamo Dileo, was born in November 1931 and was an active archaeologist in Agrigento from the very beginning of his working career. It is thanks to the hot and more importantly dry environment there that the absolutely authentic interior of the Alfa received such a fantastic brightening during the first couple of years. In the early 80's the Alfa came into the hands of its second owner, Mr Roberto Becattini, who lived in Rome and had the limousine registered until the summer of 2016. In April of 2017 Mr Becattini sold the Alfa, with the help of a car dealer in Rome, to a Belgian. The Belgian immediately transfered the vehicle, had small technical defects and scratches in the varnish removed and registered the car to himself in November 2017. Midway through 2019, the Belgian owner coincidentally showed up on our premises and spontaneously purchased a different vehicle from our stock. Without much hesitation we took the fancy Alfa Romeo in exchange and are now looking forward to the awe you willl feel when viewing the car at our location.

The 2000 Berlina is often lovingly called the bigger Giulietta. Yet the 2000 Berlina is a model with a completely newly designed interior. It features comfortable seats for both driver and side passenger, plus an equally comfortable seat bench in the back, which can optionally be separated into two individual seats thanks to a foldable back rest. What’s truly lovely about the 2000 Berlina is the fact that no family member has to miss out on coming along due to lack of space. There is enough room for five people, who can experience the vehicle's terrific sporty character, the likes of which one is rather used to only in a coupé.

This 2000 Berlina is in every way equal to modern vehicles. All in all, it’s fit for every day use, comfortable and still fast. A great car. The 2000 Berlina is generally well-known for its safe and relaxed driving experience. The engine runs with great traction, and thanks to the five-level crankshaft, there’s low vibration even at high rotational speeds. Heat problems with Alfa Romeo engines from that production era only occur due to truly improper handling. Treated properly, Alfa Romeo engines release any produced excess heat quickly, as the engine block, the cylinder head and the oil sump are not made of grey cast iron, but a light metal alloy, and the cylinder liners are bathed in the coolant.
